Where and when are regular soul line dance classes held in Toronto?
Classes are on Sundays at 2 pm at The Pink Studio & Fitness. Regular classes resume on January 11, 2026 and will run until February 22.
Can I drop in for a class?
Yes, drop in and try a class, or select a class package for a discount. Check out the intro offer on The Pink Studio’s website.
When and where are the soul line dance social events?
Currently, the socials are being held bi-monthly at Gotta Dance Studios. The next one is Friday, February 20, 2026 at 7 pm.
Are the classes and events appropriate for all ages?
The classes at The Pink Studio & Fitness are catered to people age 14+ of all dance levels and background, and all genders. Line dance is a particularly great form of dance and fitness for older adults, including seniors explore movement and fitness. The classes are wonderfully age diverse.
The Line Dance Socials are typically attended by people ages 18 and up.
Are the classes beginner friendly?
Absolutely! Classes are beginner friendly. The dances are broken down into easy to follow steps, plus there are modifications taught for more advanced dancers who may want to get fancy.
What should I wear?
Wear clothes that you can move around comfortably in. Dance clothing or dance shoes are not necessary. Some people wear athletic wear, some people wear jeans and a shirt. Shoes should be clean and flat. It’s harder to move wearing shoes with tread. Flat boots, shoes, smooth bottom sneakers are good for line dancing.
Will there be country music?
The playlist is primarily soul and R&B focused. Think Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Diana Ross, Brandy, Tamia, Toni Braxton, Bruno Mars, Mariah Carey. We’ll also get into some more contemporary tunes with songs from folks like Justin Bieber, Raye, Jazmine Sullivan, Kehlani. Plus we’ll always be dancing to the tunes of the stars of line dance music like Cupid, Big Mucci and Mike Clark Jr. Soul Line Dance hits like the Electric Slide are often part of the rotation.
However, genre is not strictly defined, so you may hear a country tune or two with an R&B bent.
