Line Dancing in particular, often incorporates stylized footwork and body
movements. Each region in which the style is practiced adds their own flair
to the steps.
Soul and R&B Line Dance has its roots in African American
communities, evolving through black social gatherings, black event, family reunions, clubs and black parties from the 1970s onward. Inspired by earlier dance traditions like the Electric Slide and disco-era moves, it grew
alongside soul, funk, and R&B music, creating choreographed group
dances that anyone could join, regardless of skill level. Now people
all over the world, from various backgrounds are joining the latest
Soul/R&B Line Dance wave.
